How to keep track of your child’s progress in school: Keep a file!

Now, if that gives you the “time to go find a hidey hole” reaction, stop. Don’t panic. There is a way to make sense of all the madness known as the school record. Remember, it’s the only way to get on the same page as the school in the educational life of your child. Without a well-organized record of your own, you will always be traveling blind through evaluations, IEPs, goals and progress, transition, just forever.

Fortunately, I have found a spectacular source that shows us how to make our own record files and keep them straight. It comes from Understood.org USA, LLC. Here’s their website, a resource you don’t want to miss: https://understood.org

You’ll be amazed at the benefits of keeping your own records. Let me know how it works out for you! robin@kuykendalladvocates.com
